Staying Close to Home

While many of us are having to stay close to home, with no opportunities to travel or interact with other people, there has never been a better time to photograph the landscape in the surrounding area.

I have been making the best of this enforced ‘lockdown’ and the opportunity to take a close look at the small things that surround me: in my garden, at the local park, or on a dog walk close to my house.

Not only does this exercise allow me to experiment and hone my photograpic skills in a different genre, it also provides me with an almost meditative experience as I find myself able to “zone out” and completely immerse myself in the smallest subjects as I explore the many detailed aspects of nature.
