North Shore Challenge

THE SHOW WILL GO ON

The North Shore Photographic Society has for the last 36 years hosted the preeminent photography competition in BC and the Yukon.  This year Covid-19 presented unprecedented challenges.

The Society initially thought that the event had to be cancelled due to Provincial health restrictions but soon realized it could proceed with the event by going virtual.  In fact, the video platform created a number of exciting new opportunities including expanding the audience to outside the Lower Mainland and, because of the increased attendance, an opportunity to engage a renowned photographer and adventurer Chris Harris who will provide a keynote presentation titled Artistic Expression: Your Photography as Ar.

This year’s Photographic Challenge is an open theme for photographers from British Columbia and the Yukon. Subjects can include wildlife, landscapes, street or architecture photos, the human form, altered reality and abstracts.  Participants have until Feb. 12 to submit their images.

The North Shore Challenge will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021.  This year, from anywhere in Canada, people can enjoy fantastic photography and learn from an expert in the safety of their own home.
