Giant Plastic Tap

This three-story tall giant art installation is leaking plastics into different environments

#TurnOffThePlasticTap

Photographer, environmentalist and broncolor GenNext winner Benjamin von Wong has been busy lately – creating and photographing another masterpiece. Von Wong is known for his dramatic imagery that raises awareness of social and environmental issues in new ways. His latest topics – Ocean Plastics, Fast Fashion and Electronic Waste – are some of the most-viewed and shared images online. Von Wong has a distinctive ability to humanize the issues without throwing it in your face. His use of people helps us connect with his work.

Von Wong relies on broncolor lighting solutions and light shapers to present his images. Each illustration is carefully crafted and broncolor is the best way to illuminate the important components of each image. Von Wong’s storytelling requires consistent light and colour image to image, whether it’s capturing a single frame or multiple frames for composite images. Broncolor lighting gives him the consistency frame to frame.

Single-use plastic consumption has gone up by 250-300% during the pandemic.

Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of this project is that Von Wong made it portable and actually captured images in multiple locations. In five hours, he and his crew could have faucet setup and then spend the next couple of hours capturing the perfect image, with the perfect sky behind.
