Laowa, the pioneer behind the iconic 24mm f/14 Probe, Periprobe, and 24mm T8 Pro2be, proudly announces the official release of the Laowa 15–24mm T8 and 15–35mm T12 Macro Probe Zoom lenses, winner of the TIPA World Award 2025 for Best Zoom Probe Lens and the Cinegear Technical Award 2025 for Optics – Camera Lenses. As the widest probe zooms with the largest focal length ranges on the market, the new Laowa Probe Zoom lenses are available in two versatile versions to suit different creative needs: the faster 15-24mm T8 for superior low-light performance and maximum speed, and the extended-range 15-35mm T12 for even greater zoom flexibility. Both deliver an ultra-wide 110.5° angle of view at the wide end and up to 2.3x zoom, enabling dramatic shifts in magnification and perspective. Their innovative 35 cm waterproof tubular design reaches deep into hard-to-access subjects with ease, while the four different perspectives (Direct, 35°, 90°, Periscope) provide expanded creative control for professional filmmakers.
First shown in 2025 and refined through extensive testing and user feedback, the lenses are now ready to ship.

The Laowa Probe Zoom Series features the widest 110.5° field of view on Full Frame sensors, making it the widest zoom lens ever available in the market. The wider the lens, the more impactful the perspective one can create. This ultra-wide perspective allows filmmakers to frame subjects flexibly, even in tight or confined spaces, to emphasize depth and scale, and execute dramatic dolly zooms and dynamic close-ups. The T12 version of the Laowa Probe Zoom lens offers the largest zoom range that any probe lens in the market can offer. It gives filmmakers the ability to create extraordinary, dramatic dolly zooms with striking shifts in perspective and scale, unmatched by any other option on the market. Its parfocal design ensures focus remains sharp throughout the zoom, making every shot consistently impactful and effortless to execute.
The Longest Tubular Design
The long tubular barrel gives filmmakers unmatched flexibility. In tight or hard-to-reach spaces, a short lens tube could cause the camera to collide with the set, limiting creative angles. The extended, waterproof design not only prevents this but also allows filmmakers to reach deeper / further when filming underwater, expanding possibilities for unique shots in challenging environments.

The 2.3x magnification allows filmmakers to capture fine details with remarkable clarity, making every shot more impactful. Combined with a short 5mm working distance, the lens can focus extremely close to the subject, enabling dramatic close-ups in tight or confined spaces. This is ideal for capturing textures, small objects, or subtle actions that a standard lens might miss.
Four different perspectives for Every Filming Scenario
There are four angles compatible with the 15–24mm T8 and 15–35mm T12 lenses, including Direct View, Periscope, 90°, and 35° Tilt, designed to cater to different filming needs. It provides endless creative possibilities and fun, and allows you to overcome the limitations of a standard straight probe. For example, the 90° module makes it easy to capture shots close to the ground without being restricted by the camera, tripod, or other equipment.
Paired with Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer
For filmmakers working with Super 35 cameras, the Laowa Probe Zoom lenses pair seamlessly with the specially designed Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer. This accessory expands the effective focal length range while delivering a full one-stop brightness increase, transforming the lenses into even more powerful tools for cinematic storytelling. The new combo will now become a 11–17mm T5.6, and 11–25mm T8.4 while preserving the signature ultra-wide perspective, immersive field of view, and dramatic zoom capabilities at the heart of these innovative probe zooms.

360° Front Independent Barrel Rotation
With the 360° barrel rotation mechanism built at the front, it allows filmmakers to freely adjust the orientation of the lens without changing the accessories.
