August is Going Green, Sustainable, and Wild!
Step into a month where creativity meets conscience. This August, Hahnemühle invites you to celebrate the magic of sustainable innovation. From the world’s first plastic-free photo papers to groundbreaking fine art albums and a global fundraiser with heart – our journey proves that beautiful things can also be good for the planet.
Let your art speak volumes: not just through imagery, but through the materials you choose.
441 Years of Craft, Sustainability & Innovation
For over four centuries, our recipe for excellence has remained the same: pure water, natural fibres, unmatched papermaking expertise, and an unwavering commitment to our home in Germany. From the very beginning, we’ve treated our environment with the respect it deserves and embraced social responsibility as part of our identity; without this dedication, our world-class papers wouldn’t exist.
We’re pioneers in eco-friendly FineArt Inkjet papers. For more than 15 years, we’ve been setting new standards in sustainable paper innovation:
- 2008 – Hahnemühle Bamboo (90% bamboo fibres)
- 2019 – Hahnemühle Agave (70% agave fibres)
- 2019 – Hahnemphle Hemp (60% hemp fibres)
- 2020 – TIPA World Award for Natural Line
- 2022 – Hahnemühle Sugar Cane (70% sugar cane fibres)
- 2023 – Hahnemühle Bamboo Gloss Baryta (first glossy Natural Line paper)
- 2023 – Hahnemühle Sustainable Photo Satin (first plastic-free photo paper)
- 2025 – Hemp Gloss Baryta (coming this October)
Within the Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection, the Natural Line holds a unique place of honour. It currently features five FineArt inkjet papers crafted from remarkable plant-based fibres: bamboo, hemp, agave (sisal), and sugar cane (bagasse). These plants are nature’s overachievers – fast-growing, low-maintenance, and entirely free from pesticides. Their rapid growth yields more cellulose from the same cropland than traditional sources, while using significantly less water. The result? Papers that conserve precious resources, safeguard the environment, and embody the harmony between art and nature. In addition, the Hahnemühle Natural Line supports environmental projects through its Green Rooster initiative, both regionally and internationally.

… around the World – ‘Edition Hope’
Buy art and do good! Since 2020, Prints for Wildlife has raised over $2.1 million for conservation by selling limited-edition prints during a one-month annual campaign, with all proceeds supporting nonprofit partners. And they’re back on 21 August! Here’s what’s new!
Edition Hope responds to a growing global retreat from environmental protection. As conservation programs face funding cuts, deregulation, and increasing threats to biodiversity, Prints for Wildlife is expanding its reach. This year, it partners with Conservation International to extend its impact beyond Africa. The 2025 collection features breathtaking new imagery – from sweeping landscapes and intimate nature scenes to compelling human-interest stories, conservation narratives, and fine art macro photography. Building on the success of previous campaigns printed on Hahnemühle Hemp, we’re proud to support Edition Hope with the first-ever production run of Hahnemühle Hemp Gloss Baryta – a paper that merges innovation, sustainability, and fine art. For Hahnemühle, a purposeful debut for a new paper ahead of its official launch in October 2025.
Choosing the right paper is part of the story you tell. With our green FineArt and Everyday Photo paper options, you can turn your printing project into a sustainable dream. Visit your trusted Hahnemühle dealer or visit our webshop today to get your favourite paper!
