Heartfelt Thanks to Amplis Foto and PHOTONews Canada for Supporting the 2025 Canadian Imaging Conference

The 2025 Canadian Imaging Conference in beautiful Ottawa, Ontario, proved to be an unforgettable gathering of photography enthusiasts, professionals, and creatives from across the nation. This incredible event was not only a celebration of the art and craft of imaging but also an opportunity to connect as a community. We are thrilled to extend our deepest gratitude to Amplis Foto and PHOTONews Canada, whose generous support and donation of prizes made this year’s auction a resounding success.

A Partnership That Inspires

Amplis Foto and PHOTONews have long been cornerstones of the Canadian photography industry, known for their unwavering commitment to supporting creatives and providing high-quality photographic equipment. Their generosity at this year’s conference reaffirms their dedication to fostering growth and inspiration within the imaging community by donating exceptional prizes for our silent auction.

Exciting Prizes: Celebrating Our Winners

The silent auction was a highlight of the conference, buzzing with anticipation as attendees placed their bids on a variety of coveted items. Among the prizes donated by Amplis were a ThinkTank Photo Mind Shift Photocross Backpack and a Cactus Laser Trigger LV5 — tools that promise to elevate any photographer’s creative journey.

We would like to congratulate our lucky winners. Larry Scherban walked away with the Mind Shift Photocross Backpack, a versatile and durable companion designed to carry essential gear through even the most rugged adventures. Larry expressed excitement about exploring the possibilities this backpack will open for his craft.

Another round of congratulations goes to Len Grinke, whose incredible bid secured him the Cactus Laser Trigger LV5. Len, from Grinkcreative.com, is sure to push the boundaries of creativity with this innovative trigger, perfect for capturing high-speed photography and unique lighting effects. We can’t wait to see the stunning images Len produces with this powerful tool.

Building a Stronger Community

The success of the silent auction underscores what makes the Canadian Imaging Conference so special: a community that comes together to support one another, learn and grow. Amplis’s contributions not only added immense value to the event but also reminded us of the importance of collaboration and generosity in shaping the future of photography in Canada.

Trade Show Expo Shines at Canadian Imaging Conference

Another standout feature of the Canadian Imaging Conference was the Trade Show Expo, which brought together a wide range of leading photographic brands and vendors. In addition to major camera manufacturers, the expo featured key industry names such as Lily Bear Drops & Backdrops, Amplis Foto and PHOTONews Canada.

Amplis Brand Manager and PHOTONews contributor Will Prentice was on-site, showcasing an impressive array of professional imaging brands including broncolor, Harman, Laowa, Tether Tools, TourBox, Hahnemühle, Easiframe, Ilford Galerie, Ilford Photo, ThinkTank Photo, Elinchrom, Vanguard, Sunbounce, Kenko and many others. Throughout the event, Will demonstrated the cutting-edge capabilities of the broncolor Satos power pack paired with Pulso L lamps and the Sony A9 III camera—capturing images at a staggering 50 frames per second with full flash synchronization. This level of performance remains unmatched by any other lighting system on the market.

Special thanks to Ariane Desbiens www.ariann.ca for her modelling in motion!

The Amplis team also provided lighting support for Lily Bear Drops & Backdrops, who contributed two of their custom-designed backdrops for use with the Easiframe system.

Open to both conference attendees and the general public, the Trade Show Expo offered a unique opportunity for the Ottawa photography community to get hands-on with the latest gear, connect with industry professionals, and experience the future of imaging technology firsthand.

A Final Word of Thanks

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the vendors, sponsors and attendees for supporting our vision and helping make the 2025 conference a standout event. Your contributions have left an indelible mark on our community, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Canadian Imaging 2026 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan April 17-19, 2026.
