Vanguard Releases the GH-300T Pistol Grip with Integrated Trigger

Vanguard has released their latest pistol-grip ball head at CES 2013, the Vanguard GH-300T. The GH-300T has a similar form factor to the GH-200, but increases the maximum load capacity from 13.2 lbs to 17.5 lbs. The most notable improvement, however, is the integration of a 2.5mm DC jack at the base of the handle, allowing for a remote cable connection to your DSLR. This feature will be a welcome addition for those who need to pan/tilt/track and shoot all at the same time. The head can be setup for free movement in any direction, or locked down to only provide panning for the landscape shooter looking to stitch panoramas.

The GH-300T is expected to ship with two cables (one Nikon, one Canon) capable of connecting to 80 percent of the DSLRs currently available on the market. For alternate connections, Vanguard will be selling additional cables for $20. Utilizing the standard 2.5mm DC jack, a photographer could theoretically connect their trigger button to a radio slave, and use it to trigger remote cameras. An exciting proposition to say the least.

The GH-300T is expected to hit the market in the next few months, and should retail around $200.
