Tamron's New Travel Zoom: AF 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3

The latest advance in travel zoom technology is now available from Tamron, with models engineered specifically for the Canon and Nikon mounts. A Sony-compatible mount will be available later this year.

The AF18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di-II VCPZD is designed for APS-C sensor-size DSLRs. The lens features the photographic industry’s highest zoom range at 15x magnification. Compact and light in weight, the latest model of this very popular lens utilizes Tamron’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization. The auto-focus unit isdriven by Tamron’s new ultrasonic PZD (Piezo Drive), delivering faster and quieter focusing. The new Piezo Drive motor is smaller than previous designs, which allows for more compactlens size than the 2009-2010 model, which won the EISA “Travel Lens of the Year” Award.

The AF 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD comes with a flower-shaped lens hood asstandard equipment. At 450g, and measuring just 88mm in length (from mount face to the tip of the lens), and 74.4mm in diameter with a filter diameter of 62mm, it is the ideal choice for travel photography, and for those days when you prefer to “travel light”.
