Canon EOS M100 – Compact and Stylish Performance!

Canon Canada has announced the availability of a new Interchangeable-Lens camera, the EOS M100, offering the avid photographer a versatile new way to explore photography and videography… far beyond the range of smartphones, yet compact and filled with the features that photographers will find indispensable for an everyday carry camera.

The EOS M100 offers the versatility of interchangeable lenses, optical zoom and the latest imaging technology, coupled with the ability to share photos and video instantly. With a powerful 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and the Canon DIGIC 7 processor and state-of-the-art Dual Pixel CMOS AF for high-speed focusing that can capturing subjects across almost the entire frame, the new EOS M100 will thrill novices and photo enthusiasts alike.

Ultimate Connectivity

The EOS M100 camera features Wi-Fi®*, Near Field Communication (NFC)** and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for live-view remote shooting and the viewing and transferring of images to a compatible smart device, using the Canon Camera Connect app.

Connect a smart devoice to the camera using Bluetooth, and the EOS M100 camera can use the smartphone’s GPS function to geo-tag your photos.

Touch Control LCD

With a sophisticated yet simple 3.0-inch LCD touch-panel user interface, you can change settings, adjust modes and focus on your subject. The display offers tilt functionality, so you can take beautiful selfies, and you can use the touch focus function with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF for focus control at the touch of a finger.

Canon’s Creative Assist function, an intuitive setting that allows users to execute their creative vision, lets you control camera settings with ease to make a scene brighter or blur backgrounds, and the changes will appear immediately in live view.

Compact Versatility

The EOS M100 is slim and light, easily fitting into bag or a large pocket.

The Canon EOS M-Series is designed to be used with any of Canons seven lightweight EF-M lenses, spanning wide-angle, telephoto and macro applications.

For photographers who already own some of Canon’s EF lenses, the EF-EOS M Mount Adapter (sold separately) lets you attach any of Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses. This opens the door to a wide range of photo opportunities – for example, you can enjoy close-up macro photography with the EOS M100, combined with a macro lens option.

The EOS M100 camera features a wide variety of functions, including Full HD 1080/60p video. You can also shoot time-lapse movies or use Hybrid Auto to pull still frames from an m HD video recording.

For action photography, the M100 shoots up to 4 frames-per-second (fps) – up to 6.1 fps if you shoot with fixed AF.

The M100 is a low-light performer, with an ISO range of 100-25,600, and you can shoot RAW for the ultimate post-processing flexibility – and the camera offers built-in RAW conversion for greater convenience.

With HDR Backlight Control you can shoot and automatically combine three images with different exposures to capture scenes that are backlit or high contrast.

The camera also offers Bulb exposure for long exposures – like adventures in night photography, light painting or capturing fireworks.

The M100 has a full slate of creative filter effects, including Grainy Film, Art Bold, and Fish-eye Effect, among others.

The Canon EOS M100 is expected to be available in Canada in October 2017 at an estimated retail price of $779.99 with the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens.
